When you want to write but don’t know what to write?

“You might not write well every day, but you can always edit a bad page. You can’t edit a blank page.”

                             ~ Jodi Picoult

It’s been a while since I last wrote in my blog. The problem is that I want to write but I don’t know what to write. I know right! Tell me about it…*rolling eyes* Initially I thought I want to write reviews about the books that I read but it takes time to read book and it is not possible to finish reading a book in just a day when you are caught up with work. So I was taking my sweet time to read and ended up not writing anything.

My inner voice keep bugging me to write something. Don’t just wait until I actually finish reading a book. So what I did? I went to YouTube and search for videos that could help me to improve my writing skills. I came across J.K. Rowling’s video. As we all know, she is a self-made millionaire for writing Harry Potter. There were few short clips of her speech and some tips for other writers. I’m going to follow two of her tips:

1) Read a lot of books

2) Write lots of rubbish 😅

Only when you keep writing, you can actually improve your skills. I’m actually trying to write a short fiction but you know what? It is not easy. I have to describe the scenes and feelings of the character which at this point of time I’m not able to do that successfully. It takes time to be a good writer. All I need to do is practice, practice and practice. The most important thing is feeling good.

I will try to write more frequent after this. At least a short write-up like this I think should be good enough. Until I know what is it that I want to focus to write in future. For all of you who have been reading my blog, thank you for sticking with me. 🙏
